Invitation to participate in an exciting research project conducted by the University of Central Florida (UCF)

Developed at the University of Central Florida, the CoachINSIGHT Toolkit is innovative, academically robust, and also useful for practitioners.

The Coaching & Mentoring Network is a strong advocate of robust evaluation for all coaching and mentoring services. Evaluation processes come in many shapes and forms, so there is no one way of ensuring that you have evaluated your programme effectiveness. Online measures are also not to everyone’s personal or professional taste. However, if you are interested in the opportunity to get the New Year off to a great start by offering your clients the opportunity to provide you with feedback to support your practice, then read on!

So, for those of you interested in supporting research as well as getting the genuine benefit of client feedback, then please engage with this project. This is the last chance you have to participate so please ensure that you get started ASAP. The CoachINSIGHT Toolkit is a collection of measures designed to assess factors important to the effectiveness of a coaching engagement. Coaches sign up to receive a personalized link, and then share this link with their coachees. Coaches answer questions about their coaching style and personality, while coachees answer questions about the coaching relationship and the degree to which coaching objectives have been met. The CIT takes about 10-15 minutes for coaches and about 5-10 minutes for coachees. No personally identifiable information is collected from coachees.

If you (the coach) and at least 5 of your coachees complete the CIT, you will receive a personalized feedback report (see a sample here) that provides you aggregated data and insights into your effectiveness as a coach.

If you wish to sign up to help us test the CIT, please click here.

If you have any further questions about the CIT, please contact the CIT research manager, Chris Coultas at ccoultas@ist.ucf.edu.

Celebratory stories and cautionary tales for coaching and mentoring in the 21st Century

A number of themes have been highlighted in the Winter issue of e-O&P which is Part One of a special two part feature on the future of coaching and mentoring.
Over the coming months, the CMN will be collecting any ‘stories or tales’ you are happy to share with us. You can share your story or tale in any format that takes your fancy [email/article/blog/video]. A ‘content analysis’ will be conducted of all the stories and tales we receive so we can ‘distil’ key themes to educate and inform future coaching and mentoring practice and services selection as well as provision.
Whether you are a coach, mentor or buyer of coaching services, please do share your story or tale. We will capture ‘themes’ only and if your story is selected to highlight an issue or theme, we promise to only provide direct ‘quotes’ or publish full stories or tales with your full written permission.

Coaching & Mentoring Network celebrates 15 year anniversary with a fresh approach to exploring the future

The Coaching and Mentoring Network is inviting contributions to a special edition of AMED’s e-Organisations and People journal which will be edited by The Network’s founders Pauline Willis and Anna Britnor Guest. The special edition is a part of a series of celebrations and collaborations marking The Network’s 15th anniversary in June of this year.

The Coaching & Mentoring Network is inviting contributions to a special edition of AMED’s e-Organisations and People which will be edited by The Network’s founders Pauline Willis and Anna Britnor Guest.

The special edition is a part of a series of celebrations and collaborations marking The Network’s 15th anniversary in June of this year. This milestone inspired a process of reflection on early beginnings, past successes and future potential for ‘The Network’ website as well as the wider coaching and mentoring community.
This process of change that began in 2013 has breathed new life into relationships with established friends, supporters and subscribers as well as creating opportunities for exciting new possibilities.

Pauline Willis one of the co-founders of www.coachingnetwork.org.uk said “Over the coming months and into 2015, you will see significant changes as we consolidate and build upon everything that the CMN is most valued for in the wider community.”

In June, Oxford Brookes University Coaching & Mentoring Society (OBCAMS) hosted an event to mark the anniversary date and bring together some of ‘The Networks’ friends, supporters and subscribers.

The OBCAMS event sparked off a new phase of collaboration with the Association of Management Education and Development. ‘The Network’ and AMED will be collaborating on an innovative publishing project to produce a special issue of the e-Organisations and People Journal as well as informing the information we publish about Coaching and Mentoring on ‘The Network’ website. This innovative publishing project is designed to open up thinking, bring together old and new voices and collect a wide range of perspectives. This process is open to anyone who would like to join the conversation.

If you would like to join us in exploring the future of Coaching & Mentoring full details about this project along with information about how you can get involved be found in the Call for Contributions.
