She apprises us of some emerging trends in the United States of America (USA), that she finds disturbing. Of particular concern is the move in the ICF to change the ‘mentor-coach’ role into a coaching supervision role, using models from psychotherapy and psychology that she feels are not appropriate for coaching practice as it has been defined by the International Coach Federation (ICF). Vikki warns that ‘where the ICF goes others will follow’, with the adoption of supervision practices that have no place in the coaching profession.
